Inspire your Soul with John Salisbury

Sunday, July 13 | 1pm–4pm | $40 by July 9th | $45 after July 9th

Spark your soul's awakening by igniting your inner spiritual fire during this uplifting three-hour Vinyasa flow class. Vinyasa is the movement of the body and the breath together in order to balance the nervous system and bring about mental tranquility. The body-breath movement generates heat, which is then used to burn away impurities that hinder the movement of energy in and through the body. Once the nervous system is calm, the senses become calm and the mind follows.

We will do a strong flow, while work-shopping standing poses, arm-balances, inversions, and anything else we can think of! Please come with specific poses you would like to work on if you have any. Otherwise, come with a smile and an open-mind!

John was raised learning about yoga at home. His true interest came about the age of 22, where he was taught the Astanga Vinyasa Yoga system by his step-father, Dave Oliver. Having an athletic background as a wrestler and weight lifter, John knows it takes discipline and determination to realize one's Self and potential. Having traveled to India to study Astanga Yoga, John has a refreshing outlook between old-world tradition and new-world inspiration. His classes focus on deepening the student's connection internally, while staying grounded to true outward experience. His understanding of yoga and the Sanskrit language are an amazing example of the great knowledge he has at such a young age. Some of John's teachers include Tim Miller, Dave Oliver, Rod Stryker, Dharma Mittra, Lino Miele, and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. John also has a B.A. in Theatre from ASU.

"My classes are created for the long spiritual journey, offering modifications for all levels of practitioners, yet challenging even the most advanced. I teach with passion in order to uplift the mind, encourage the heart, and awaken the soul. We are all on this journey together, though our paths may vary."
